Founded in 1997, Alaska Conservation Alliance (ACA) is a statewide non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose primary mission to protect Alaska's natural environment through voter education and engagement, and advocacy. ACA is the only statewide coalition group uniting Alaska's conservation community while providing the tools and technology to coordinate statewide grassroots into a powerful, cohesive force that impacts public policy. We also educate policy makers and the public about environmental issues that impact Alaska.
Advocacy - ACA houses Alaska's only environmental lobby. Our Legislative staff in Juneau works to influence state policy and to hold Legislators and the Administration accountable for their actions. ACA also works with other member organizations to advocate local elected officials to pursue positive, pro-conservation measures.
Voter Education - ACA educates Alaskan's by participating in Ballot measure campaigns, statewide strategic issue campaigns, canvasses and get-out-the-vote drives. Other ACA voter education activities include voter ID, list enhancement, polling, media, newsletters and this web site.
Coordination - ACA keeps the Alaska conservation community coordinated. ACA convenes the conservation community for strategic planning meetings in May and November each year-and ad hoc around emerging issues-to revise strategies, share information, and strengthen working relationships.
